Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 11, 2026
The short version
do-mi is desktop software. Your practice data and your clients’ information stay on your computer or in a storage location you choose.
get do-mi LLC does not receive, transmit, process, store, or have technical access to that data. We operate no servers that hold it. do-mi contains no telemetry, analytics, usage tracking, or crash reporting.
We receive only the limited information described in this policy:
- Account and billing information provided through Stripe
- Licence-validation information
- Support communications if you contact us
- Beta waitlist or feedback information if you choose to provide it
- Ordinary technical request information generated when you use our website or contact an online service we operate
None of this includes information about your practice, clients, matters, files, or use of do-mi’s features.
1. What this policy covers
This policy covers:
- The do-mi desktop application
- The do-mi Gmail add-on
- The website at getdo-mi.com
- Subscription, licence-validation, support, beta, and feedback activities operated by get do-mi LLC
get do-mi LLC is a Georgia limited liability company.
2. Your practice data
get do-mi LLC does not collect, receive, transmit, process, store, or have technical access to data you enter into do-mi.
That includes:
- Client and contact information
- Matters
- Documents and email content
- Notes
- Calendar entries and deadlines
- Time entries
- Billing and financial records
- Audio, transcripts, prompts, and AI output
- Anything else you store or process in do-mi
This data is stored in local database files on your computer. You control those files and can back them up, move them, inspect them, export them, or delete them.
do-mi contains no telemetry, analytics, usage tracking, or crash reporting. We do not know which features you use, what you enter into the application, how often you open it, or whether it crashes.
Our role
For your practice data and your clients’ information, get do-mi LLC is not your processor, service provider, or contractor. We do not process that data on your behalf because we never receive it and have no technical means to access it.
For the limited account, billing, licence-validation, support, waitlist, and feedback information we do receive, get do-mi LLC decides why and how that information is used.
3. Local security and encryption
Local database files
do-mi does not encrypt its local database files at rest on your computer.
Protection of those files depends on:
- Your operating system’s file permissions
- The physical and account security of your computer
- Any full-disk encryption or other security controls you enable
We recommend enabling full-disk encryption, such as BitLocker on Windows or FileVault on macOS.
Credentials such as access tokens for connected accounts are stored in your operating system’s secure credential store rather than in the do-mi database.
Optional encrypted sync and backup
If you enable sync, do-mi encrypts the entire database and writes the encrypted file to a destination you choose:
- Your own Google Drive
- Your own OneDrive
- A folder you specify
We do not operate or control that storage location.
The encryption key is derived from a passphrase you set. You also receive a recovery key as a second unlock method. get do-mi LLC does not have your passphrase or recovery key and cannot decrypt the file.
If you lose both the passphrase and the recovery key, the encrypted data cannot be recovered by anyone, including get do-mi LLC.
4. Account and billing information
To provide and bill for a subscription, we receive or maintain limited account and billing information, which may include:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your subscription and module selections
- Your subscription status
- Invoices
- Payment status
- Billing and payment history
Stripe
Payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects and stores your payment-card details under its own terms and privacy policy. get do-mi LLC does not receive or store your full card number.
Stripe provides us with the limited account, subscription, invoice, and payment information needed to operate and account for your subscription.
We use this information only to:
- Provide and bill for your subscription
- Contact you about your account
- Maintain tax and accounting records
- Prevent fraud and subscription abuse
- Resolve billing questions and disputes
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell or rent this information, use it for targeted advertising, or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not send marketing email unless you separately ask to receive it.
Stripe may process billing information in the United States and other countries where Stripe or its service providers operate, as described in Stripe’s privacy materials.
Retention
We keep account and billing records while your subscription is active and afterward for as long as reasonably necessary for tax, accounting, legal, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, and business-record purposes.
5. Licence validation
do-mi periodically contacts a get do-mi LLC licence-validation service to confirm that your subscription is active.
What do-mi sends
The request sends a licence identifier associated with your subscription.
Like any internet request, it also necessarily reveals:
- Your IP address
- The time of the request
- Ordinary technical request information needed to deliver and secure the request
If the do-mi version is included in the validation request, it is used to operate the validation service and return an appropriate response.
What do-mi receives
The service returns:
- A signed confirmation of the licence status
- An expiry date used to determine how long do-mi may continue working before it must validate again
Between validation checks, do-mi can work offline for approximately 30 days.
What licence validation does not send
Licence validation does not send:
- Practice or client information
- Matter information
- Documents or files
- Calendar entries or deadlines
- Time or financial records
- Feature-use information
- Telemetry, analytics, or crash reports
- Information entered into do-mi
We do not use licence-validation requests to monitor your practice or track how you use do-mi.
We keep validation logs only as needed to operate, secure, debug, and prevent abuse of the validation service. Providers that host or deliver the validation service may also keep ordinary server and security logs.
6. Services you may connect
do-mi can connect to accounts you control. Except for the Gmail add-on handoff described below, these connections are made directly from your computer to the provider. Your practice data does not pass through get do-mi LLC.
Your use of Google, Microsoft, and other connected services is governed by your own agreement with the relevant provider.
Google Calendar and Google Drive
If you connect a Google account through the do-mi desktop application, do-mi requests:
- Access to Google Calendar for calendar features
- The Google Drive
drive.filescope for files do-mi creates or that you open with do-mi
Through the desktop integration, do-mi does not request access to:
- Your Gmail mailbox
- Drive files that were not created by or opened with do-mi
- Your Google contacts
- Your Google profile
The connection is between do-mi running on your computer and the Google account you control. get do-mi LLC does not receive or store the calendar or Drive content accessed through that connection.
The do-mi Gmail add-on
The do-mi Gmail add-on can read only the single message you currently have open, and only when you ask the add-on to file that message in do-mi.
The add-on cannot read, search, or list the rest of your mailbox.
The add-on requests no access to your identity. It does not read your name, your Google profile, or your email address.
When you ask the add-on to file an open message:
- The add-on places the message content temporarily in Google’s script cache under a one-time key.
- The one-time key expires within approximately two minutes.
- do-mi running on your computer retrieves the message from that cache.
The temporary cache is operated by Google. get do-mi LLC does not receive or store the message or its contents.
Google user data is used only to provide the features you request. We do not:
- Sell Google user data
- Use it for advertising
- Use it to train AI models
- Use it for unrelated purposes
- Permit get do-mi LLC personnel to read message or practice content
Our use of information received from Google Workspace APIs will comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Google message content accessed through the Gmail add-on is used only for the filing feature and is not used for AI training or unrelated business operations.
Microsoft 365 and OneDrive
If you connect a Microsoft account, do-mi running on your computer may request:
- Access to your calendar for calendar features
- Access to a dedicated application folder in your OneDrive using
Files.ReadWrite.AppFolder
do-mi does not request access to your Microsoft mailbox.
The connection is between do-mi running on your computer and the Microsoft account you control. get do-mi LLC does not receive or store the calendar or OneDrive content accessed through that connection.
7. Local AI features and model downloads
do-mi’s AI features, including document extraction, summarisation, and meeting transcription, run entirely on your computer using locally installed models.
No client text, email content, document, audio, transcript, prompt, or AI output is sent to an AI provider, API, or other third party by those features. Nothing you process through do-mi’s AI features is used to train an AI model.
If you choose to install these features, do-mi may download model files from a model-file provider such as Hugging Face. That download does not contain information about your practice or clients. As with any file download, the provider necessarily receives ordinary technical request information, such as:
- Your IP address
- The time of the request
- The file requested
- Other ordinary information needed to deliver and secure the download
8. Software updates
do-mi may check for and download software updates.
An update request may reveal your IP address, the time of the request, the version of do-mi you are running, and ordinary technical request information to the service hosting the update.
Update requests transmit no information about your practice, clients, matters, files, or feature use. The hosting provider may retain ordinary server and security logs.
9. Support communications
Support is provided by email. If you contact us, we receive the information you include in your message, such as:
- Your name and email address
- Your licence or subscription information
- Your question
- Diagnostic details or files you choose to send
Because get do-mi LLC has no technical access to your local database, we cannot inspect your practice data unless you deliberately include information from it in a support communication.
We use support communications to respond to you, troubleshoot reported problems, improve documentation and software, and maintain appropriate business records.
AI-assisted business operations
do-mi’s product AI features run locally on your computer. Separately, get do-mi LLC may use AI tools to help operate the business, such as drafting documentation, improving software, organizing support requests, summarizing non-confidential feedback, or performing administrative work.
get do-mi LLC does not use AI tools to process practice data or clients’ information because it does not receive that data. If you contact support or send feedback, do not include confidential client information unless it is necessary and you have determined that sending it is appropriate.
get do-mi LLC may use AI tools to help review, organize, summarize, or respond to support communications and feedback.
10. The website, beta waitlist, and feedback
getdo-mi.com is an informational website. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies and do not run behavioural or advertising analytics.
Like any website, the hosting provider may process ordinary server-log information needed to deliver and secure the site, such as:
- IP address
- Time of request
- Page requested
- Browser or device information
We do not use that information for advertising or to build profiles of visitors.
Beta waitlist
If you join a beta waitlist, we receive:
- The email address you provide
- Anything else you choose to include in the form, such as information about your practice type or current software
We use this information to administer the beta and contact you about it. Joining a waitlist does not create a paid subscription.
You may ask us to delete your waitlist information by contacting us at hello@getdo-mi.com, subject to information we must retain for legal or business-record purposes.
Feedback
If you complete a feedback questionnaire or otherwise send feedback, we receive the information you choose to provide. We may use that feedback to decide what to build, fix, or improve and to follow up with you.
If feedback is linked to your email address, you may ask us to remove that link or delete the feedback unless we need to retain it for legal or business-record purposes.
11. Your privacy rights
Privacy laws may give you rights over account, billing, licence-validation, support, waitlist, or feedback information that identifies you.
Depending on where you live, these may include rights to request:
- Access to your information
- Correction of inaccurate information
- Deletion
- A portable copy
- Restriction of or objection to certain uses
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
To make a request, contact hello@getdo-mi.com. We may need to verify that the request concerns your information. Some information may be retained where required for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or other legal purposes.
Practice and client data
We cannot provide, correct, delete, or recover your practice data or your clients’ information because we do not have it. You exercise control over that data through your own copy of do-mi and the files stored on your computer or in your chosen storage location.
12. What happens when a subscription ends
Ending a subscription does not transfer your practice data to get do-mi LLC and does not permit us to delete, alter, encrypt, or withhold it.
do-mi continues to provide the export access described in the do-mi Subscription Agreement and Terms of Service, including after a subscription ends. This export function operates against the data stored on your own computer.
The Terms govern the scope and operation of that export right. This section explains only the privacy consequence: your data remains yours, and get do-mi LLC never held a copy.
13. Data processing agreements
Because we do not receive or process your practice data or your clients’ information, a conventional data processing agreement does not describe our relationship with respect to that data.
If a client, insurer, regulator, or other reviewer requires documentation, contact us. We can provide a statement describing the information get do-mi LLC does and does not receive.
14. Security incidents
If we become aware of a security incident affecting account, billing, licence-validation, support, waitlist, or feedback information held through systems we operate, we will notify affected customers as required by applicable law.
A security incident affecting systems operated by get do-mi LLC cannot expose practice or client data that never reached those systems. This does not address incidents affecting your own computer, accounts, network, or chosen storage providers.
15. Children
do-mi is professional software intended for attorneys and law practices. It is not directed to anyone under 18.
16. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. Previous versions will remain available.
We will not quietly change this policy to permit collection of your practice data. The software’s architecture — not this policy — is what prevents that collection.
If we ever offer a separate product or optional feature that would send practice data to get do-mi LLC, an AI provider, or another third party, we will describe that feature before it is used and require an affirmative choice to enable it.
